Can you text message on Skype or is it only a video calling service?

I used skype to talk to my boyfriend while he was away in Italy for a semester. The sound quality is very good and it's free to make skype-to-skype calls. It's really great if you need it for a specific purpose like that but I wouldn't use it as your main phone. It costs about 10 cents a minute to call land lines with it and I never tried recieving calls with it. Good luck!

Skype is a messanger.
It is used for voice,camera & text conversation.
It is free from Pc 2 Pc use.
But it has charges for mobile use.

Yes you can send text message using your skype account if you buy credits on skype. I'm already using it to text my sister abroad.

Skype is a free tool. I got so me and my boyfriend would love to talk because msn and that is our main chat really good but yes I love this I have on my laptop and ipod touch the only down side is that ipod can't play games with computor But yes, you can play games against each other.

The sound quality is very beneficial as well as it's free to make skype-to-skype calls. It's really enceinte if you need it for a specific purpose like that but I wouldn't use it as your main phone.

Skype is pretty cool. We acclimated it if my dad was in New Zealand and we were in the US. You don't even charge to do video, you can just allocation in the mic like a approved buzz alarm but free.
