I was wondering a blog "have" to be update or else it will slowly be dropped from the SERP's? I just wondered, I know most content sites can be left alone for some time and stay high in the SERPS but I wondering that about blogs.

I have a couple blogger blogs that have gone to number one for a key phrase each and was wondering if there was way to keep them at the top other than continuous posting or building back links?

Probably asking to much....I guess I should have optomized a site for these phrases rather than a blogger blog. Can you let me know
