What is meant by content rich websites ? Which websites can be classified as content rich

What is the name for the websites which are not content rich (abstract website or something like that) ?

When there is a lot of content on a page its content rich, I can understand that. But what amount of content makes website a content rich ? Does the content being displayed makes website content rich or if the website connects to different links or pulls data from database, is that content rich ?

If I check the website of newspaper, there is lot of content and if I check google, there is very less content. If I check bank website, there is moderate amount of content. So which one of these can be classified as content rich ?

A content rich site is just that...rich in content.

Content is basically just stuff on the site.

Rich just means having lots of something (ie: rich in ideas, or rich in vitamins).

A content rich site is one that could display text, images and/or video and possibly other stuff like RSS feeds, MP3's or other audio.

A content rich site could be just text with no pictures or video. If it has a lot of information (content) it could be considered rich in content. An example of that could be a site that has tons of jokes on it with new ones being added all of the time.

One of the keys to keeping a site content rich is updating it and adding new content all of the time. In essence a site could be content poor on day one, but grow to be content rich if content was added on a daily basis (ie: most active blogs).

A content rich site can be one that you could visit on a regular basis and have something new to see each time.
