![]() | I've created a new website. It's about something some friends and I are developing. I want to constantly be adding news of how we are progressing. Having to keep changing the website completely everytime I have more news is too much work. What is a good program to use that will allow me to do this with content? I have my site hosted on godaddy and just installed Wordpress, but I don't know if it allows me to put info I put in the database straight to my site, or if I have to use the wordpress as my whole website. If word press isn't the right way to integrate feeds into my current site, what is? I use dreamweaver CS3 for my webpages and I would also like it if people can get an RSS to my news. Thank You Yes but how do I use wordpress to add the content onto my html site? Thank you :] |

![]() | WordPress is a fine solution for being able to have multiple people post updates about your site. You do not need to make WordPress be the entirety of your site. Just have the Hosting Connection install it in a subdirectory, such as /update. (In fact, it's always a good idea to install WordPress in a subdirectory, as it creates settings in the .htaccess file of its directory that often cause problems with other pages / software your site might be running.) WordPress offers RSS and Atom feeds. The nice thing about WordPress is that anything you might want it to do, someone has programmed a plugin to get it to do that. http://wordpress.org/extend/ UPDATE: You asked me vai e-mail "how to add the content to my html pages." I have absolutely no idea what that means. You install WordPress. It has a back end. You log into the back end. You create a new post. You push the publish button. The post shows up on your site. If you want to make WordPress look like the rest of your site, you simply create a theme. I highly recommend reading the Codex, so you can understand exactly what WordPress is. http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Lessons |
