It fits horizontally in my browser, but so would anything because my desktop is 5760px wide! (don't ask... it involves several screens)

On a more serious note, if I move it onto one of my 1280x1024 screens it doesn't fit fully horizontally (a horizontal scroll bar appears). Its ok on my 1920x1200 screen though.

Use http://browsershots.org/ to test web designs in many different browsers and resolutions.

As to making it fit in most browsers, it first helps to have a design that has clear boundaries. At the moment your content a bit jumbled all over the place and there isn't a consistent width to the page.

A good width that is popular with many designers nowadays is 960px. This is a good width because it fits on a 1024px wide screen, the minimum resolution that most modern computers run at. Its also divisible by many numbers, making it easier to split into columns and complex designs. In fact its so popular it even has a whole website dedicated to it with info, tips and templates for designed based on it!
Check out... http://960.gs/

You should set your width to be dinamic or to be fixed. Either way you should choose a minimal width size for the site.

One way to test it is by using Firefox extension webdeveloper that allows you to re-size the browser into a specific size.

Also use the Firebug extension for Firefox. It will allow you to fix the site, on the browser, so you can adapt the code on the fly.

Good Luck.
