Hi

Use correct and effective keywords that aptly describe your web page. The meta keywords give a hint to the search engines about the possible contents of your webpage. Don't stuff the keyword meta tag with so many keywords or with inappropriate keywords. Search engines don't like stuffing and they will punish such practices.

No, there is not a SEO problem with it. It will cause a mark up error if you try to validate the page using the W3C validator and is technically illegal markup, but search engines themselves do not care about this. Most of the major search Engines including Google, Yahoo, and Live Search do not read meta tags anymore, but scan the actual content on the web page and match people's searches to the criteria.

I totally agree. We only use keywords in the tag that match keywords in the content. And then we limit it to just a few words. I think over used keywords are a spam indicator.

The keywords meta tag doesn't do anything anymore, at least as far as most search engines are concerned.Meta keywords may improve rank in second-tier search engines, such as MSN and Yahoo!

Meta keywords are important, But too much stuffing of keyword will consider as a illegitimate way in SEO which is not good for any site. Some time Search Engine ban such sites which stuff keywords in excess.
