Default Can companies back out of sales confirmed online?

I recently found a great deal a a site online for a game I play and ordered a bunch of the product. I got online order confirmation sent to my email for all three of orders. The price was up on their site for about 3 days or so before it was changed back to it's "normal" price. Now my orders are being canceled and they have not responded to my emails, and I was not notified that my orders were canceled a full day after they were placed.

Is this legal? Aren't they held to their prices on the site, especially after I put in my credit card info, and received a receipt for it all?

Thank you for any help.
I'm not worried about my information being stolen, or my credit card drained. It is a real company, and they official website. 100% sure.

Is there a law that protects the consumer in a case like this, when dealing with real companies that can be traced or brought to court?

odds are that a ridiculously unrealistic sale price was put in by mistake, and they changed it and cancelled all of those orders as soon as they noticed it. i agree with you that they should honor the advertised price no matter what the reason was, but companies are pretty greedy and will just say, "it was a mistake, too bad." pay close attention to your credit card statement and make sure they give you a refund.

There is noone to call and complain to about this, if thier not contacting you, either they dont want to sell to you or they took your cc info and ran. There are no internet police to contact or call.
Call your cc company and cancel that card and get a new one sent out and notify them of this companies gotten your info and then cancelled your order.
I only buy from known stores, amazon/ebay or stores I can walk into that also have online stores. Its just too risky without reference to purchase from these stores. If someone has a site selling stuff, they dont sit at thier computer 24/7 waiting for orders and to respond to emails. Anyone can open a store online and then not even look at it for days, weeks, whatever, its their to do as they like.
So be leary about who you order from in the future.
Again call your cc and cancel that payment and cancel that card and get a new one sent out to protect yourself.
