I'm buying a $55 item from eBay and I'm in the confirm bid section. I'm paying buy direct bank deposit. In the sellers notes, he says:

Please leave ebay user id number if paying by direct bank deposit !!
Seller's payment instructions Please make payment within 3 days of completion of auction by either paypal, direct bank deposit or money order. Please leave ebay user id number if paying by direct bank deposit !!

Is this a scam? If not, where can I find my eBay user ID number?

It basically is what eBay user you are. No harm in giving it to him.
