Default Teaching Classes over the Internet

Dear Group,

This is my first post to this group and I welcome any advice that anyone can give me regarding a start-up business on the internet. I, along with another mathematician in Scotland, are planning on teaching a very special type of math class on-line through a website. This website, which has yet to be generated, will contain the following:

1. The ability of order books and DVD's,
2. View videos on-line for a price
3. offer classes (on-line and in person).

I was told that a good place to start to get a general structure for a website is themeforest.com. This site offers pre-structured website designs for purchase for all different types of endeavors. Once we decide on a general structure, it then becomes a matter of filling in the blanks within the website. This seems to be the way to go without having to go through the cost of having a totally custom website developed. This portion of the work is probably something that we can handle on our own. My initial questions deal with the pricing of the classes.

Even though we are hoping for interest all over the world, it is most likely that a great portion of initial interest would probably be from India, Malaysia and Singapore. How big an impact, if any, should the location of the interested party be in the pricing of classes? Should the prices for classes be quoted in the website? Should the prices be standardized? Here are some possibilities:

1. Keep the prices the same for everyone.
2. Prices in India cheaper than prices for a similar class in the United States.
3. Quote a different price for each situation based upon number of participants, location, grade level, etc.

This is will be the first of many questions I know I will have. As I said, any and all help will be appreciated.

Rick
