Default Organizing online Business purposes?

I am needing an easy way to organize our products by serial number online. I use a spreadsheet, but I am looking for something that doesn't have to be so "old school". If you know of a program (trial, or free) that I can try please let me know.

What I need from the software:
Organize Serial numbers for different products
Purchaser and shipped to infor. for owner of merchandise w/ that ser. #
date of shipment.

Thanks.

It sounds like you're using Excel as a database; Access is a lot more powerful that way and it gives you more control over how you enter, sort, filter and report your information.

Free of course:-) MySQL is a good place to start. BUT, this will require technical know-how to maintain and someone to integrate into the HTML of your site.If you are not technically savvy, Microsoft Access is easy enough to learn and can store your records for you. The license is not cheap. You can also transfer it over to another database when the time is right to scale your business.
