 |  why does Google out rank yahoo by so much as a popular search engine? i ask as a... ...yahoo user.? they both offer a similar package, both are user friendly but yahoo home page offers a variety of options such as local news weather blah blah. and Google seems to provide a (slightly) more accurate search. is it simply a case of marketing and product placement? | Google has already being established as the powerful one. Even when people do their search, they go to google. Google has stricter rules and have the money to spend to make sure that their rules are enforced and they do a lot of marketing as well. they are already branded as the most popular search engine and once a business is branded and people flock to it , it gives them an edge over Yahoo.com. |

| Google can be used like limewire to download video, music, software! Google has a easy to use interface. Google owns the rights to youtube.com and myspace.com Among other many other things. |

| Yeah, I think it's because Google is the standard one that most computers have as the homepage, when I was at school, the computers brought up Google everytime you used the internet... |

| Well I think Google is more popular. And known worldwide and I think Yahoo is too. But most people think of Google as a search engine and Yahoo as more of just E-mail stuff. Plus when people think of looking stuff up Google pops into there head to look it up. Since Google offers you so many choices on the topic you search. And Google has been out there for quite awhile. |

| In my opinion google is more friendly user than yahoo and also it has many unique and interesting features as compare to yahoo .. One of this is that it provides many many information  |
