Here are the ways to get traffic on twitter

Make your Twitter profile interesting
Pick a niche-targeted username
Put your site/blog URL in your profile
Search for Twitter users with similar interests
Tweet regularly
Socialize on Twitter as much as you can

This question is asked so many times.. But anyway social networking like Facebook, twitter, social bookmarking like Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon are good for traffic. Forums and blogs also good for back links and traffic. But nothing is better than search engine trafiic. PPC is also good way for it.
