Default place the corresponding closing tag

Many people advise me to place the corresponding closing tag at the end When i type an opening HTML tag (e.g. <b>, <p>), which is said to ensure that myHTML pages work properly on all browsers, and will help to prevent any strange problems occurring in my pages, is this right? Your thoughts?

When you are writing the tag then always concentrate on defining the corresponding closing tag. Because if you doesn't define corresponding closing tag than your design of website is goes down and you have to be in trouble to find the solution of problem.
